Siamese Fighting Fish Swimming Sideways

May 12, 2012 - When he stops swimming, often he floats to the top and lays there on his side, as though he is trying to get oxygen from the air (sometimes he seems to swim sideways). He is in a 1/2 gallon tank and we've tried changing his water (filtered) weekly and every 3 or 4 days. We feed him a typical beta food, only the tiniest pinch, most days, and give him 2-3 worms every 2-3 days, but at the other end of the day from his daily feeding.
