Florida Native Fish For Aquarium

May 10, 2012 - I'm considering a preformed plastic pond with perhaps cardinal tetras, maybe some other small colorful schoolers. I'm in Florida, so I don't suppose temperatures would be an issue (except maybe cooking the fish), and I know to watch for outside predation, but I guess my question is whether anyone has tried and had any luck with keeping fish that are typically thought of as aquarium fish outdoors... anything I should keep in mind? (I had a "vision" of a large school of cardinals...

May 6, 2012 - I need to collect a native mollusk for a class but a foot of snow is falling right now in Colorado... so I figured my luck with wild snails is over till June. So I went to Petco to try to purchase a simple garden snail, but all they had were freshwater snails that were clearly not native to Colorado (required 75F water? Sounds like Florida) Are there fish shops that just have tanks of extra snails or something? I don't know anything about snails or aquariums really hey, try READING THE THING....
